Vot Tande is an extinct volcano, located 50 km NE of Ureparapara Island. The island contains the oldest rocks in the Banks Islands. Vot Tande is also called Vat Ganai.
The island is 800 m long and 300 m wide with an area of 0.24 sq km. At the northern end there is a wave cut platform which is exposed at low tide and extends 100 m seawards.
Lava spatter bombs and oxidised casts indicate eruptions occurred above water.
